Call for WISE Intern Applications

The Wise Road: Women in Science and Engineering, Medtronic

The WISE initiative is sponsored by the Medtronic Women’s Network (MWN) and the Medtronic R&D Council. The mission of Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) is to create an inclusive culture where female scientists and engineers are inspired to join, thrive and reach their full potential. The WISE Intern Program is a summer internship focused on reaching students at a critical time in their decision-making process, as they contemplate choosing and sticking with science and engineering majors.

Target Audience

  • 18 years of age or older at the start of the internship
  • High school graduates or freshman who have completed their first year at a college or university
  • Students who are actively seeking or are enrolled in a college or university in a science or engineering degree program
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher

Program Details

  • Program Dates: end of May 2021 – early August 2021
  • Program Length: 8 – 10 weeks
  • Project-based, developmental in nature
  • Paid, expected 30-40 week time commitment
  • Research & Development (R&D) engineering internship in Surgical Innovations (Boulder)

Application

Resumes should include:

  • What type of science or engineering degree the applicant is pursuing
  • What schools the applicant has been accepted to or is pursuing
  • What classes and/or activities the applicant is/was involved in
  • Current GPA
