Order of the Engineer logo

The Order of the Engineer was initiated in the United States to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession, to bridge the gap between training and experience, and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer through a ring worn by all members on the 5th finger of their working hand. The Order is not a membership organization; there are never any meetings to attend or dues to pay. Instead, the Order fosters a unity of purpose and the honoring of one’s lifelong pledge as an engineer. For more information on the Order of the Engineer please visit http://www.order-of-the-engineer.org/.

To qualify, members must be one of the following:

  • Senior undergraduate engineering major (within one academic year of graduation)
  • Graduate Student in EAC, or ABET-accredited program
  • Engineering major that graduated from an EAC, or ABET program
  • Licensed professional engineer

There is no cost to you to participate. The Boise State College of Engineering is covering the cost of your Order of the Engineer ring, certificate, and pocket card. To participate you must register here no later than Wednesday, November 10th, as well as stop by RUCH 101 to see Nikki Regent (NicoleRegent@boisestate.edu, (208) 426-2688) to determine the ring size of the 5th finger of your working hand.
