  • 08/2014 Dr. Lu attended the 2014 NSF Career development for new faculty workshop hosted by CAES at Idaho Falls, Idaho.
  • 07 – 08 /2014 Ms. Sarah Wright from REU program joined MMIG for 8 weeks. Sarah teaches 9th (Intro to Engineering Design) and 10th (Principles of Engineering) grade at Mountain View High School in Meridian. Welcome!
  • 07/2014 Dr. Lu attended the 2014 PCA Prof Workshop, held at the Portland Cement Association, Skokie, Illinois
  • 03/2014 Dr. Lu attended the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Spring Convention at Reno, Nevada.
  • 03/2014 Dr. Edward Garboczi, NIST Fellow, was invited to give a talk on “A Materials Research Potpourri”. Really COOL research!
  • 03/2014 Congratulations! Stephen was selected to attend the the summer school in University of Wisconsin – Madison on Transformational Technologies in Molecular Simulations with financial support. This workshop is sponsored by NSF fund and it’s quite competitive to receive financial support.
  • 03/2014 Stephen and Dr. Lu attended the MOOSE training workshop at INL.
  • 02/2014 Dr. Lu is invited to the Southwest Chapter of Idaho Society of Professional Engineers annual Engineers Week Luncheon to be recognized by the peers of Idaho Professional Engineer’s society.
  • 02/2014 Dr. Lu proposed and nominated 3 Civil Engineering undergraduate students to apply for 2014 NIST SURF program.
  • 02/2014 Dr. Lu’s Group participated the STEM Exploration Day at BSU. STEM is FUN!
  • 01/0214 Dr. Lu is elected a Member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He was an associate Member of ASCE.

  • 07/2013 Dr Lu attended the 4th Cement division conference — 4th Advances in Cement-based Materials: Characterization, Processing, Modeling and Sensing.
  • The 4th Cement division conference is hosted July 8-10, takes place at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Cements 2013 is co-organized by the Cements Division of ACerS and the Center for Advanced Cement-based Materials.
  • 05/2013 Dr. Lu received a full travel support to attend the Cyberinfrastructure for Atomistic Materials Science (CAMS) 2013 Summer School on Simulation of Complex Microstructure in Materials. It is to be held at the University of Florida in Gainesville on May 20-24.
  • 04/2013 Dr Lu submitted an abstract for the ACerS/ACBM Cements Division meeting July 8-10, 2013 at the University of Illinois. The talk is only 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for discussion, so I will have to be brief. It is a good meeting – This is my first talk for the ACerS/ACBM conference. Well, it must be a good one.
  • 03/2013 Dr Lu received an INVITATION: FHWA EAR Program Workshop on Multi-Scale Material Modeling, April 23-24, 2013, McLean, VA. So I will be show up at the multiscale materials modeling workshop as a new academic professional.
