Student Spotlight: Kinzie Hague, Blue House Agency Director

This month we shine a spotlight on Kinzie Hague, a senior studying Media Arts with an emphasis in Public Relations. She’s energetic, creative, and extremely driven. She’s also the Fall 2019 Director of Blue House Agency (BHA), Boise State’s student-run PR firm. Hague, who will graduate in May 2020, says her Boise State experience was influenced heavily by her time in Blue House.

BHA is a chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), a pre-professional organization for students interested in public relations and communications. The Boise State chapter functions as an agency and provides members with hands-on experience and professional mentorship.

Hague has always dreamed of being a business professional. She chose to study PR for the challenge it provides. She excels at developing solutions and building relationships. When she joined BHA at the beginning of her junior year, she was surprised by the energy of the group and found it was the perfect fit for her.

“There was an energy and excitement in the organization that wasn’t present in a typical class,” Hague said. “Students are there because they want to be.”

Her time at Boise State has taught Hague to push herself further without fear of failure. Through schoolwork and her involvement in student organizations, Hague has achieved her dream of being a business professional. As the BHA Director, she successfully led her team, boosting her resume and honing her relationship-building skills. This helped her turn a meeting with a BHA guest speaker who owns an advertising agency into an internship. Hague considers this one of her biggest accomplishments.

“Looking back, I never would’ve imagined myself running for the executive board and then later becoming president of the chapter. BHA helped me to become a leader through networking with professionals, working on real-life campaigns, attending a national conference, and leading our student-run firm,” Hague said.
