Ceremonies for 2021 Graduates

Boise State University is hosting two in-person commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 8, at Albertsons Stadium to celebrate the class of 2021.

  • 10 a.m. Saturday, May 8 for graduates from the College of Business, College of Engineering, College of Health Sciences and College of Innovation and Design
  • 4 p.m. Saturday, May 8 for graduates from the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education and School of Public Service
  • Graduate students attend the commencement with their home college.

All graduates are guaranteed up to four (4) tickets for guests. The ceremonies will last approximately two hours. 

Logistics for graduates

  • For the morning ceremony, doors open and check-in begins at 8 a.m. at Albertsons Stadium. Graduates must check in and be seated no later than 9:30 a.m. For the afternoon ceremony, doors open and check-in begins at 2 p.m. at Albertsons Stadium. Graduates must check in and be seated no later than 3:30 p.m.
  • Enter Albertsons Stadium through GATE H (between the Caven-Williams Sports Complex and the east end of Albertsons Stadium).
  • Walk-through magnetometers will be used to screen all students entering the stadium. Please do not bring bags or other personal belongings onto the field.
  • Check in and show the QR code you received for your name reading. Please share using your cell phone or printed from your email. You will sit with the college you are graduating from.
  • Student parking is at the West Stadium parking lot, located between ExtraMile Arena and Albertsons Stadium. See more information about parking, guest parking and accessible parking.
  • If you have not already received a text message to indicate your preferred name and record the correct pronunciation of name, please follow these instructions for name reading for the morning ceremony and these instructions for name reading for the afternoon ceremony.
  • The morning ceremony begins at 10 a.m., and the afternoon ceremony begins at 4 p.m. The ceremonies will last approximately two hours.
  • Immediately following the ceremony, you’ll be directed off the field through gates H and J to return to the west parking lot.

Tips for graduates

  • Make sure you look your best by steaming or pressing your regalia ahead of time.
  • You will be walking on turf – please wear comfortable shoes. For your safety, and the safety of the field, no heels will be allowed, but wedges are welcome.
  • Make sure your phone is charged for all those photo-ops and selfies. Share your commencement experience with us using #BOISESTATEGRAD.
  • The Alumni Association will have a table for last minute needs like bobby pins, static spray and lint rollers to make sure you look great in your Boise State regalia!
  • After the ceremony, you’re invited to visit the various locations on campus to take post-commencement photos with families.

Logistics for guests

  • For the morning ceremony, Albertsons Stadium doors open at 9 a.m. For the afternoon ceremony, Albertsons Stadium doors open at 3 p.m. Since seats are assigned, there is no need to arrive early and wait for the doors to open. Please avoid congregating. Please use the designated stadium entrance listed on your tickets for entering the stadium.
  • Walk-through magnetometers will be used to screen all guests entering the stadium. Please note, air horns, cowbells or noisemakers of any type are prohibited. Please see the full list of prohibited items and additional safety measures.
  • Concessions will not be available.
  • Hearing devices will be provided to guests who need access to this service. Go to the bookstore entrance on the west side of the stadium to check out a headset for free. Headsets will be available on a first come, first served basis. Please be prepared to leave a driver’s license or other photo ID to check out the headset. Your ID will be given back when the unit is returned.

  • After the ceremony, you’re invited to visit the various locations on campus to take post-commencement photos with your graduates.

Please note: Graduates and attendees will only be required to wear facial coverings when they are out of their seat, based on recently revised CDC guidelines. While seated, individuals will be physically distanced, mitigating the risk of COVID transmission.

Kylie Rodgers

Meet the Afternoon Student Commencement Speaker

Kylie Rodgers hails from Vancouver, Washington, and her academic career and performance portfolio are testaments to a passion for creativity, imagination and diligence. As a student at Boise State, Rodgers dove headlong into the world of theatre, specializing in acting, dance, directing and choreography, but also playing the roles of seamstress, lighting tech, stagehand, carpenter and many others. She graduates magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts in theatre and a minor in dance.
