Bronco Engagement
“Community engagement is the collaboration among institutions of higher education and their larger communities (local, regional/state, national, global) for the mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and resources in a context of partnership and reciprocity.” – The Carnegie Foundation
Boise State has a long history of being recognized for its commitment to community engaged work and developing effective leadership:
- Carnegie’s Classification for Leadership for Public Purpose (2024, inaugural year)
- Carnegie’s Community Engagement Classification (since its inception in 2006)
It is in the spirit of the Carnegie Foundation’s vision that the Office of Community Engagement here at Boise State seeks to actively connect community partners with faculty, staff and students to collaboratively address the complex challenges facing the region, state, and nation.
