{"id":10552,"date":"2025-06-24T12:08:57","date_gmt":"2025-06-24T18:08:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/computing\/?page_id=10552"},"modified":"2026-02-25T14:45:15","modified_gmt":"2026-02-25T21:45:15","slug":"transfer-credits","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/computing\/academics\/doctoral-program\/transfer-credits\/","title":{"rendered":"Transfer Credits"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Graduate coursework can be transferred to Boise State University and applied to Ph.D. in Computing requirements in accordance with Graduate College policy, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/graduatecollege-success\/ratc\/\">outlined here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Review the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/boisestate.edu\/computingphdstudenthandbook\/coursework\">Student Handbook<\/a> for additional information about transfer credits, including the maximum allowable number of transfer credits and the minimum number of credits that must be completed at Boise State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-transfer-courses\">How To Transfer Courses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Students should communicate with a program co-director to determine which courses will meet degree requirements prior to submitting the Request for Approval of Transfer Credits.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Students must provide transcripts for any transfer course being used to replace an emphasis core class (e.g. not an elective)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Transfers are requested via the Graduate College <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/graduatecollege\/forms\/\">Request for Approval of Transfer Credits<\/a> form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-deadlines\">Deadlines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The program co-directors review and approve transfer credit requests once per semester:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fall Semester \u2013 December 1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-previous-boise-state-classes\">Previous Boise State Classes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduate courses taken at Boise State for a previous degree can be used to meet PhD in Computing degree requirements. <strong>Graduate courses from Boise State being used to meet PhD degree requirements do not need to be submitted for approval through the Graduate College.<\/strong> Students should meet with their advisor or a program co-director to determine which degree requirements have already been met.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Graduate coursework can be transferred to Boise State University and applied to Ph.D. in Computing&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3403,"featured_media":0,"parent":59,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-10552","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/computing\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/10552","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/computing\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/computing\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/computing\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3403"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/computing\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=10552"}],"version-history":[{"count":7,"href":"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/computing\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/10552\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":12685,"href":"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/computing\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/10552\/revisions\/12685"}],"up":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/computing\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/59"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/computing\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=10552"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
