The Boise State Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP) is pleased to announce that Director Fabiola Juarez-Coca has been selected to join the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) board of directors as the 4-year public postsecondary institutional representative. She begins her position effective Dec. 2.

“Taking on the responsibility of the NACEP 4-year public institutions representative means that Boise State will continue to provide leadership at the national level in advancing quality university classes in the high schools,” Juarez-Coca said. “As a board member, I will continue to advance and promote the NACEP standards with all institutions across the nation who offer dual/concurrent credits to help high school students get a head start in their college education.”

Boise State has been a state leader in concurrent/dual enrollment for almost three decades, sharing program best practices and developing a statewide dual/concurrent credit brochure. CEP staff members have also participated in task forces with Idaho’s State Board of Education to help other Idaho institutions gain NACEP accreditation and secure state funding for students.

In 2018, the Idaho State Board adopted the NACEP standards in recognition of the impact the organization has in helping guide the administration of quality programs. To date, five of the eight Idaho public institutions who offer dual/concurrent credit have NACEP accreditation, with Boise State being the first to gain the prestigious distinction. Dual/concurrent enrollment continues to grow nationwide, and it’s important for stakeholders to have an organization like NACEP to help guide that growth.

“My hope is to share my experience managing a quality concurrent enrollment program with other professionals in the field,” Juarez-Coca said. “Having led Boise State’s CE program through a successful accreditation three times, with over 7,000 students in the program, has given me insights that will help guide practices at the state and national level.”
