Concurrent Enrollment Graduation Celebration Tops New Records

The Boise State Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP) breaks another record of high school graduates completing a CEP program option, as 206 students were honored during the Class of 2026 Graduation Celebration on Tuesday, May 5.

The celebration was the largest in CEP history, hosting over 400 guests inside the Jordan Ballroom, Boise State University’s largest ballroom. The CEP honored 15 students from the 15 to Start option, 100 from the Sophomore Start (now the 30 to Start) option, and 91 from the Associate Degree option.

“It was impactful to see the large number of (students’) family members who came to help them celebrate their jump start into college,” CEP Director Fabiola Juarez-Coca said. “As concurrent enrollment opportunities continue to grow, it’s clear that students need the type of support we provide through academic advising and focusing on reaching milestones of meaningful college credits.”

Opening Remarks

Boise State Interim Provost Dr. Zeynep Hansen and Interim Dean of Extended Studies Niki Callison provided congratulatory speeches to the students.

“Concurrent Enrollment is an exceptional opportunity for students to challenge themselves with college-level content and learning while in high school,” Callison said when asked about the advice she gave to the graduates. “They develop habits of persistence, resilience and discipline in these courses – lifelong tools that will serve them far beyond any grade or credit earned.

“We are thrilled to see the growth in students participating in our Bronco Navigate program as this shows they are not only signing up for concurrent enrollment courses, but also thoughtfully planning with an advisor for how these courses fit into their future college and career planning.”

Words of Wisdom and Certificates

The speeches continued with current Boise State students and 2025 Associate Degree recipients Gracie Durocher and Allie Brown. They provided words of wisdom and tips for college success.

The graduates then made their way across the stage, receiving their certificate and Boise State-themed graduation cord. Joining them on stage was the respective CEP advisor the graduates worked with to complete their program option: Associate Director Karina Smith and Academic Student Success Coordinators Jessica Markley and Skylar Sommer.

“We are very proud of the impact the Concurrent Enrollment advising team and the financial support contributed by Boise State by reducing summer school credit fees to help these Idaho students get set up for a bright future,” Juarez-Coca said.
