Carolyn Templeton

Carolyn Templeton served as Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Community and Environmental Health from 2006-2017.  She holds a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Idaho, an M.S. in Allied Health Teacher Education from the University of Michigan, and is a Registered Dietitian.

Carolyn worked at Michigan Medicine for 40 years in a variety of inpatient and outpatient positions, with emphasis on diabetes and dietetic intern education.  She was also a team member in the Pilot Geriatric Arthritis Program, an early and unique outreach initiative to bring health care and education to older adults in the community setting.

She was a nutrition consultant in long-term care for 15 years, and a lecturer in the UM School of Education.  Carolyn’s areas of interest are geriatrics, health education, and diabetes.  She has a variety of publications in those areas.  Carolyn enjoys designing education programs that engage, enlighten, and provide fun and real-life learning.  The highlight of her career–interacting with Boise State students as they explored and developed greater appreciation and insight into of what it takes to be an older adult.
