Judy Began her healthcare career as a licensed EMT in 1980. She graduated from LA County/USC Medical Center School of nursing and obtained her RN license in 1985. She earned her BSN and MSN from Cal State University. Her career has varied from work as a family Clinical Nurse Specialist, A professor in a BSN education program, and 13 years in Executive Nursing management at various hospitals. In 2013 she started the current chapter of her career in public policy with the Board of Nursing and was appointed as Director of the Commission on Aging in 2017. Judy currently also serves the governor as chair of the Idaho Board of Nursing.
