Supplemental Education Services
The Center for School Improvement and Policy Studies worked as a state approved provider of Supplemental Education Services. This project was a component of Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, which was reauthorized as No Child Left Behind (NCLB).
The Center partnered with school districts to provide an integrated model that provided both tutoring services and targeted professional development. This model was designed to meet the federal requirements for free tutoring to eligible students, and to build teacher capacity within each school in order to improve the achievement of underperforming students.
