The Professional Learning Project
The Center for School Improvement & Policy Studies partnered with Weiser, Midvale and Payette School Districts to assist in implementing instructional strategies that support students in poverty. Teachers in the first five years of teaching attended a full day of professional learning workshops each month. The cornerstone of the project was professional reflection to improve instructional expertise. Participants explored research-based strategies, tools, and writing to support higher order learning and student engagement.
