Bob Casper has been at Boise State for over a decade, now serving in the  Instructional Design and Educational Assessment (IDEA Shop) as an Instructional Design Consultant. While mainly focusing on OER (Open Educational Resources), he also assists in Mobile Learning Technologies and Accessibility/Universal Design for Learning. He co-serves as one of two Instructional Designers assigned to the English Department, as well as, principle consultant to the Communications Department and the University Foundational Studies Program. In addition, Bob has taught the upper-division Web-Design course for the Communications Department and currently teaches the Multimedia Storytelling course. He has also led instruction as a Discussion Group Leader over several semesters of the Science Fiction-themed UF100 course previously offered by University Foundations. A graduate of OPWL (Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning), his master’s degree in Instructional and Performance Technology focused on online learning, instructional design, and aspects of universal design for learning.

Some of Bob’s achievements include a comprehensive accessibility audit for the online RN-BS Completion program in the Nursing Department, as well as, student and instructor training guides for Service Learning’s Peer Recruitment Program. Before coming to Boise State University, Bob’s previous experiences consist of research, creative, and business roles in the computer industry (DELL and HP) and the film/TV industry (Disney and Warner Bros. – among others). He received his undergraduate degree from California State University–Northridge in Radio/TV-Film, with an emphasis in Multimedia Management.

His personal interests include spending time with the ones he loves, as a coach for his daughter’s soccer team to guided fishing tours with his father. When at home he can be found grilling or gardening with his wife, daughter and their extended family. Ask anyone who knows and they will tell you that a description of Bob would not be complete without mentioning his enthusiasm for film and all things Disney.
