I hold a B.A. in English with a Writing Emphasis from Boise State and an M.A. in English from the University of New Hampshire. For many years I was an adjunct faculty member in the Boise State English Department, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in technical communication both online and face-to-face. I began working for the IDEA Shop in 1998 and have held a few job titles, including technical communicator, information design specialist, and, currently, instructional design consultant. Before coming to Boise State, I spent 11 years running a one-person editorial consulting company, providing writing and editing services and workshops on writing and editing for clients in business, industry, and government.
When I’m not pushing pixels, I spend my time following local politics, learning to play the ukulele, watching cheesy B-movies, and cooking–especially cooking barbecue and grilling pretty much anything on my Kamado ceramic grills. I am a successfully unpublished novelist and, with my brother-in-law, the holder of a patent for a self-recovery device for snowmobiles.
