Open Educational Resources (OER)

Open educational resources (OER) are educational materials—text, audio, video, images, and more—that are in the public domain or shared at no cost with an open license, such as a Creative Commons license. Depending on the license, OER can be copied, revised, remixed, adapted, and shared. OER comes in many forms, including syllabi, curricula, lecture notes, quizzes and exams, animation, and even entire textbooks (digital and hardcopy). Also, “While the benefits of OER are available to all learners and educators, OER draws on the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

The tabs below list areas of OER research efficacy and more. In addition, you can see that OER programs are offered throughout the year by the IDEA Shop.
