The Spring 2026 Service-Learning Exhibition which took place on April 29th from 4-6pm, highlighted how Boise State students are applying coursework to address real community needs across our communities through high-impact, experiential learning.
This semester’s event was the largest to date, featuring 61 posters representing 17 classes, 16 faculty, and 234 students. Across the semester, 1,436 students participated in 87 service-learning courses, taught by 67 faculty members in collaboration with more than 50 community partners.
Projects reflected a wide range of community priorities, including environmental sustainability, public health, youth development, housing insecurity, and cultural engagement. The exhibition provided an opportunity for students and faculty to share their work, exchange ideas, and explore the breadth of community-engaged learning across disciplines.
One instructor shared that the exhibition “felt especially full and engaged,” noting the energy and level of participation throughout the event. A student also commented on how meaningful it was to participate and appreciated the coordination behind the experience.
The event also recognized the contributions of long-term community partner Pam Willey, who supports the Adaptive Kinesiology course by sharing her lived experience with students, helping them connect course concepts to real-world application.
Overall, the exhibition demonstrated the scale and impact of service-learning at Boise State and the value of sustained collaboration between students, faculty, and community partners in creating applied learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
