Susan has served as Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies since July 2020.  She served as the founding director of the CTL from 2006-2020.  Prior to her work in the CTL, she spent ten years as a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.  She holds a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Stanford University. Her work in the Provost’s office is focused on supporting institutional structures and culture that create inclusive and effective environments for student learning, growth, and success.  Her scholarly interests are focused on factors that impact faculty and institutional change. She has served  as a PI on several National Science Foundation funded STEM education reform projects.
