No matter how small or large a teaching gesture, project, or effort may be, they all make an impact on our learning community. Every month, we are recognizing \u201cEveryday Teaching\u201d in our monthly newsletter. Join us in congratulating Franziska Borders (World Languages, German), Cody Coker (Communication), and Luke Jones (Professional MBA) who have been nominated for their everyday teaching. Here\u2019s some of what the nominators said about them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/ctl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/390\/2024\/02\/franziska-borders-headshot-.jpeg\" alt=\"Franziska Borders\" class=\"wp-image-65719\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/worldlang\/german\/\"> Franziska Borders <\/a>\u201cFranzi teaches German and is a Discussion Group Leader for 2 different sections of UF100. Franzi is constantly thinking about how to better the student experience, both in and outside of the classroom. She creates engaging experiences exploring identity and culture, often meets with students outside of class to help them with assignments, and helps students obtain resources on campus\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/worldlang\/german\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/ctl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/390\/2024\/02\/Cody-Coker.png\" alt=\"Cody Coker\" class=\"wp-image-65720\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/dept-communication\/department-faculty-and-staff\/\">Cody Coker<\/a> \u201cCody is an excellent teacher and mentor. He is currently working with a former student on an independent project stemming from the class he taught that they were in. He helped the student apply for the COAS research grant. He is also working with students on a panel for the upcoming Northwest Communication Associations\u2019 annual conference.&nbsp; In general, students love him and flock to his classes because of his warm personality, engaged teaching style, and clear concern for student well-being\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"211\" height=\"211\" src=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/ctl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/390\/2024\/03\/Luke-Jones_no-LI.jpg\" alt=\"Luke Jones\" class=\"wp-image-65777\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/cobe-parttimemba\/pmba-faculty-and-staff-directory\/\">Luke Jones<\/a> &#8220;Luke completely redesigned our MBA 531 &#8211; Design Thinking &amp; Strategic Perspectives class. This is one of the first course in our Professional MBA program (evening MBA for working professional managers). He was exceptional. He brought in relevant guest speakers, coordinated a full consulting project and used hands-on methods to teach. Course evaluations were better than ever and it was evident he spent so much time working on this course!
