The Center for Teaching and Learning is committed to celebrating and highlighting great teaching at Boise State. No matter how small or large a teaching gesture, project, or effort may be, they all make an impact on our learning community. Every month, we are recognizing \u201cEveryday Teaching\u201d in our monthly newsletter. Join us in congratulating Nicole Molumby (Music, Flute), Marc Ruffinengo (Criminal Justice), and Emily Meredith (Biology) who have been nominated for their everyday teaching. Here\u2019s some of what the nominators said about them:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Awardees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Emily Meredith<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEmily is a very student-focused instructor. Over the last few years, she has redesigned her BIOL 191 course to incorporate group work and active learning to help students better understand the material. Also, she is dedicated to supporting students not just in her Biology courses but in all introductory Biology courses through her work in developing the Biology Learning Center.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nicole Molumby<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNicole spends copious, careful time with students in the BA degree to help set up internships and other BA projects. Her mentoring is steadfast, creative, and thorough.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marc Ruffinengo<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMarc\u2019s classes are among the most popular with our Criminal Justice students, and he teaches across the curriculum (from 100 level classes to the Senior Seminar capstone). Additionally, when we needed someone to step into a new class or cover our Internship class, Marc stepped forward. He is a team player.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
