Karina was asked about her ongoing research focused on mapping the land margin of the Greenland Ice Sheet using machine learning techniques applied to Sentinel-2 satellite images. She has been collaborating with NASA and the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS) for this project. She hopes to create a time series of the ice sheet’s margin that can be used to assess “hot spots” of rapid change.
