Welcome to the Department of Geosciences!
We are a vibrant community of undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a variety of educational goals in the geosciences. Our students go on to successful futures in industry, consulting, government and graduate school. Our undergraduate program options include degrees in B.S. in Geology, B.S. in Geophysics, B.S. in Earth Science Education, Secondary Education, and a Minor in Geospatial Information Analysis. We offer four graduate degrees including a Master of Science (M.S.) in Geology, Master of Science (M.S.) in Geophysics, Master of Science (M.S.) in Earth Science, Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Geophysics.
Interested prospective undergraduate students should apply directly through the Boise State University Undergraduate Admissions process. Prospective students interested in any of our Geosciences Graduate Degree Programs should directly contact individual faculty in their discipline of interest and apply to Graduate College Admissions. Many of our graduate students receive financial assistance – teaching assistantships, research assistantships, traineeships or part-time professional employment with the department.
