At eCampus, our Quality Assurance Coordinators are here to support those efforts and ensure the course vision shines through. We serve as partners in the process, offering a fresh set of eyes to help ensure each course is clear, consistent, and easy for both students and instructors to navigate.
Whitney Gill, a Quality Assurance Coordinator, has been a part of the eCampus team since 2014. She’s helped shape the QA role and knows firsthand the importance of a collaborative approach in developing online courses.
“As Quality Assurance Coordinators, it’s our job to partner with faculty and our eCampus teammates to get a course ready to be taught online,” Whitney says. QA Coordinators look at the course content “for clarity, accuracy, and consistency and also ensure that the course is functional in Canvas.” It’s all about working together to bring the course to life online.
The ultimate goal of quality assurance is to ease the faculty’s experience of teaching their course online and improve the students’ learning experience. Quality Assurance Coordinators can offer suggestions to enhance the overall quality of a course, such as providing feedback on anticipated student questions, course layout, grading workflows, and more. This collaborative process ensures a seamless, intuitive learning experience for students and streamlines the teaching experience for the instructor.
