Teacher candidates host disability awareness expo

Teacher candidates hosted the Fall 2019 Disability Awareness Expo on November 19th in the Student Union Building. The event is organized as assignments in the ED-ESP 250 Exceptionality in School course. The purpose of the expo is to bring awareness of disabilities to the campus community, peers, faculty and staff, and surrounding community members.

Teacher candidates in the course break up into self-selected groups to create and present a booth focused on disability awareness. The booths create interactive experiences for visitors to learn how specific types of disabilities might affect a learner in a classroom.
