This week, faculty and students from the Special Education Research Lab presented at Boise State’s Undergraduate Research Showcase, highlighting impactful, student-engaged research across special education.
Dr. Aaron Mowery’s team presented “Sensory Supports in K–12 Classrooms: Practical Strategies and Recommendations,” focusing on actionable approaches educators can use to better support sensory needs in school settings.
Dr. Monique Pinczynski and Dr. Jeremy Ford’s team shared “Let’s Go! Teaching Bus Riding Skills to Young Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities,” showcasing practical strategies to promote independence and community access.
Dr. Katie Conley’s team presented “Building Strong Foundations for Collaboration in Rural Schools” and “Collaborative Futures,” emphasizing the importance of partnership and collaboration in rural education contexts.
The Special Education Research Lab, part of Boise State University’s Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) program, brings together faculty and students to engage in meaningful, applied research that supports individuals with disabilities and advances inclusive education practices.
