BE WELL Webinars for Education Leaders: Recruitment and Retention

Broncos Engaging with Working Educators Leading & Learning (BE WELL) is a Fall 2020 webinar series hosted by Heather Williams, assistant professor and Executive Educational Leadership program coordinator. The goal of the series is to focus on making connections across Idaho’s educational system, spanning geography, place, and typical ‘space’ or silos to learn from others and scale best practices.
October topic: Recruitment and Retention
Speakers: Samantha Portenier and Randy Jensen
Dr. Samantha Portenier, MD, is a family medicine specialist with St. Alphonsus Medical Group and the program director for Idaho’s Family Medicine Residency Rural Training Track. She works to recruit and retain doctors in Idaho. She currently practices at St. Alphonsus Medical Group Family Practice and is affiliated with West Valley Medical Center.
Randy Jensen has a strong dedication to students and their success. He has served as the Superintendent of the American Falls School District since 2017, after serving for 28 years as Principal of William Thomas Middle School in American Falls. Randy was named the 2016 Distinguished Educator of the Year by the Association for Middle Level Education. Randy has been the Met Life National Principal of the Year, Idaho Middle Level Association Educator of the year, and a Fulbright Scholar in Brazil.
