Literature for Lunch: Fall 2021

The Hemingway Literary Center’s Literature for Lunch Book Discussion Series is Virtual for this Fall 2021! Please join us!

“Uncommon Readers: Reading in Communities”

Reading literature is an experience we undertake alone that simultaneously makes us members of a community. This season, we examine how individuals form communities as well as the ways belonging and isolation influence knowledge, emotions, and well-being. Join host Dr. Cheryl Hindrichs, Professor of English, to discuss these diverse works with other uncommon readers via Zoom webinar. Zoom links will be emailed prior to book discussion events.

FALL 2021 Literature for Lunch Schedule:

  • August 6, 12:30 pm: Iris Murdoch, The Sandcastle.

  • September 3, Noon: Roberto Bolano, The Skating Rink.

  • October 1, Noon: Muriel Spark, The Bachelors.

  • November 12, Noon: Anne Serre, The Governesses.
