R6 Poised to Make a Run

– Danny Appleton

Boise State University Rainbow Six Siege Look to bounce back after their season was cut short during the CollegiateR6 Winter Season playoffs. Last season saw Boise State take on CU Boulder, California Berkley Esports, and CSULB Esports. Last season they went 1-2 in their round with a round difference of -7 across their three games. Boise State’s only win the group stage was against CU Bolder where they won 16-15. All the other games played by BSU were close with 4 round differences for each at 11-15 against CSULB and Cal Esports.

ColligateR6 Winter Season 2020 League Playoffs had BSU pinned against Kennesaw State for their first match. Kennesaw State finished top two in the Southern Division group with 2 wins and one loss. The Southern Division consisted of Georgia Esports, Michigan Tech, and Michigan State alongside Kennesaw State. BSU would go on to defeat Kennesaw State 14-7 and move on to the Sweet Sixteen of the playoffs. They then faced off against Michigan Tech who was also from the Southern Division group that featured Kennesaw State. Unfortunately, they were unable to move on in the tournament and loss to Michigan Tech in the 16th round of the playoffs.

With BSU out of the CollegiateR6 Winter Season, they will look to bounce back for the 2021 season. In the 2020 pre-season championship Boise State were knocked out of the tournament in round one of the playoffs. They have been able to improve from then and make it further in the last tournament. With these results there is only room from improvement on the team. We all look forward to seeing what the team will do in 2021 with the upcoming tournaments.
