Local Service Project: Bird Habitat Conservation

October 9 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm MDT

Join in on a fun and rewarding project serving our native wildlife right here in Boise! You will learn more about what is being done in our area to conserve native species while also being a part of the process of protecting them.

You will work with a team of volunteers to prepare three restoration sites for planting projects later in October. Tasks to support native plants include weeding and placing mulch around the restoration sites. While working, you will also learn about the history of the Boise River, invasive weeds, and the importance of native plants. This project is being led by a team of local conservation organizations and government agencies, including the Golden Eagle Audubon Society.

– Transportation will not be provided, though if this is an issue please email braelynwhitelock@u.boisestate.edu to arrange a way to get you there. We’d still love to have you!
– Snacks and gloves will be provided.
– Please bring water.
– Please wear closed-toed shoes you don’t mind getting dirty and are comfortable to hike 1-2 miles.
– The first part of the project will be in the morning, so please dress for cooler weather.

If this event is full, please email braelynwhitelock@u.boisestate.edu to be invited to future service projects.
