Local Service Project: Greenbelt Butterfly Beautification

Fun fact: a part of the Greenbelt runs right along campus, and we are in charge of maintaining its beauty for students and butterflies. You heard that right – monarch butterflies love our Greenbelt!

One of the plants that monarch butterflies absolutely adore is milkweed, and we have partnered with Parks & Rec to plant some seeds to bloom in the spring for our little friends. We have to plant them while it’s cold for them to grow properly, so come out and help us bring some beauty to the Greenbelt’s future.

• Meet at Friendship Bridge at 4:00pm; we’ll work for about an hour
• Dress for the weather and for getting your hands dirty
• We will provide snacks, work gloves, and tools
