'Spark Change' Exhibit open
April 22 @ 8:00 am - May 6 @ 5:00 pm MDT
Boise State’s department of Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability, in partnership with US Energy and the School of the Arts, seeks to exhibit innovative creators whose original creations speak to the theme of environmental sustainability. The exhibit will be on display from April 22 through May 6, 2022 in the Center for Visual Arts, second floor Pop Up Gallery.
The exhibition, entitled Spark Change, will present a cohesive body of works that relate to the theme of environmental sustainability as made evident through the subjects represented or through the materials used. Works showing a clear design aesthetic will be prioritized. This call is open to both students and community members.
$250 will be awarded to each of the top three student entries.
Works can include, but are not limited to:
- Augmented/virtual reality
- Video performance/installation
- Textiles, puppets, and kites
- Large-scale art
- Unusual tools and machines
- Found art
- 2D and 3D visual arts
A panel made up of three students, a representative of the Office of the Sustainability, and two School of the Arts staff members will select participants. The panel will make its decision based on the innovative creator’s mastery of technique, adherence to the principles of design, and relevance to the theme.
