The 2022 Creative Writing MFA Reading Series presents author and scholar Anahid Nersessian. Nersessian will give a guest lecture at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023, in the Hemingway Center Great Hall.
Anahid Nersessian, Professor of English at UCLA, authored “Keats’s Odes: A Lover’s Discourse” (Verso, 2022; Chicago, 2021), “The Calamity Form: On Poetry and Social Life” (Chicago, 2020) and “Utopia, Limited: Romanticism and Adjustment” (Harvard, 2015). A regular contributor to The New York Review of Books, her writing also appears or is forthcoming in The Paris Review, New Left Review, n+1, The Los Angeles Review of Books, The Times Literary Supplement, and the academic journal Critical Inquiry, among other places. Free and open to the public, the Creative Writing MFA Reading Series invites renowned writers and thinkers to campus each fall and spring. Visiting writers give readings of their work and conduct workshops with creative writing students.
