- Plan to limit the duration of the event and number of attendees to comply with university, local, and state guidelines.
- Consider hosting the event outdoors, weather permitting.
- Communicate to all event participants ahead of time whenever possible. The following should be considered when drafting your attendee communication:
- Individuals are not allowed to attend if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, have been caring for someone with COVID-19, or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 within the past 14 days.
- Organizers will require attendees with COVID-19 symptoms to leave the event, isolate themselves from others, and report symptoms to the Public Health Office as soon as possible. Attendees will be required to observe all health and safety protocols
- Requirements for personal hygiene during the event.
- Cleaning procedures before and after the event.
- Individuals who are in a high-risk population should consider virtual attendance or other adjustment or accommodation.
- If and when public health guidance prevents in-person events, the event organizer is to prepare a backup plan to host events virtually or in a predetermined outdoor location.
