With 100+ online programs and 1,000+ unique online courses, Boise State Online represented 38% of university credit generation, 30% of all degrees awarded and a 6.7% increase in enrollment for 2025.

All Hands on Deck
Richard Renz | Master of Social Work Online
After serving in the Navy for 20 years, Richard Renz found his second calling in social work. A fully online schedule helped Renz earn his Master of Social Work while still maintaining his community commitments. “You can still be a professional and work in the community, help with advocacy, help people out and still continue your education with a great level of support,” he said.

Summer Sessions at Boise State continue to gain momentum with 81% of graduates in 2024 taking at least one summer course.

I decided to take summer classes because for me as a student, it’s always really important to stay on top of my education and keep progressing as much as I can and keep moving forward. Summer classes doesn’t mean you have to be inside and just grind it out. I tried to make it the best of my experience, which was enjoy the summer at the same time while getting my education at the same time. And I’m planning on taking summer classes again because it’s really great for my education. So yep, I’m going to keep doing it.
A Summer for the Books
Student demand for summer classes at Boise State University continues to increase with 2025 enrollment and enrolled credit hours totalling over 10,000 students and 59,300 credits, respectively, an 8.97% increase from last year.

“The summer classes tend to be a little bit smaller, not so busy. And so for my first anatomy and physiology class it was 100 people. And then going into the summer one, it was only 30. So getting to have more one-on-one interactions with my professor and being able to learn the concepts without feeling stressed or rushed or anything like that was really nice. And so having the opportunity to take physiology by itself really allowed me the opportunity to thrive.”

Concurrent Enrollment
Boise State Concurrent Enrollment helped 7,478 high school students across the Treasure Valley get a head start on their degree by earning transferable college-level credits.
Record Enrollment
A record 169 high school students completed their respective concurrent enrollment program option as part of the Class of 2025 Graduation Celebration. The Concurrent Enrollment Program honored 19 students from the 15 to Start option, 71 from the Sophomore Start option and 79 from the Associate Degree option inside a filled Simplot Ballroom.
Excellence in Advising
Jessica Markley, Academic Student Success Coordinator for the Boise State Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP), received the Region 8 Excellence in Advising – New Advisor award at the NACADA Region 8 and Region 9 Conference on March 18, 2025.

Farm to Table
Completing a fully online degree in rural Idaho comes with challenges, but Online Bachelor of Arts in Digital Innovation and Design student Sofia Sanchez-Chapman has learned to adapt. Whether navigating limited internet bandwidth in her rural community or managing a busy schedule of coursework, teaching assistant duties and helping maintain the family ranch, Sanchez-Chapman knows how to balance a full plate.
Master and Commander
After earning his MBA, Master Chief Rob Guerin enrolled in Boise State’s online Master of Science in Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning to deepen his knowledge of leadership and strategy.
“Because of [Boise State Online], there are jobs that will be available now that weren’t before,” he said.
eCampus Center
The Boise State eCampus Center stays up-to-date on evidence-based best practices in online learning design and user experience, providing faculty and students with 1,104 new courses and 573 enrollments in faculty development.
AI Tools for Seniors
School for the Digital Future faculty member Margaret Sass championed a free online course for seniors interested in learning more about interacting with artificial intelligence.

Online faculty member Wenlu McIntosh shared her experience with eCampus Faculty Development, offering insight into the support, growth and sense of community this program provides.
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
The nationally-recognized Osher Lifelong Learning Institute offers learning opportunities for Broncos ages 50 (or better) with 30,392 course enrollments and 1,511 new memberships.
Personal Writing: Bob Fontaine

Bob joined Osher seven years ago, initially getting acquainted through the Personal Writing class, which has helped him toward the goal of completing a book of memoirs for his family and friends.
The Perks of Osher Membership

Professional and Continuing Education at Boise State offered 50+ courses, including a new three-course AI–based learning program. PACE also hosted its first annual Leadership Summit, attended by 160 leaders, innovators and change makers.
