Boise State Day connects locals and students to Boise State leaders and staff.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter wp-image-1058755\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/164\/2022\/10\/IMG_2799.jpeg\" alt=\"Boise State Day staff in a group in front of a blue photo backdrop. \" class=\"wp-image-1058755\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Staff at 2022 Boise State Day.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Adriana Martinez-Saldana, Boise State\u2019s extended studies coordinator based at CSI, led planning efforts. \u201cThis event showcased all the wonderful opportunities Boise State has to offer to local students and connected Boise State to our higher education partners, Magic Valley businesses and their employees looking to enhance their skills in the changing business climate here,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A joint meeting between Boise State college leaders, staff and faculty with CSI counterparts to collaborate on ideas and expectations of the partnership was an important part of the day. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Shelley McEuen, CSI department chair for <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">social science and communication<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, was in attendance. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;The event allowed me to put faces with names and programs \u2014 this is priceless,\u201d she said. \u201cMaking these kinds of connections enables collaboration at a more fundamental level. Plus, it&#8217;s simply fun to meet colleagues in a setting where we are positioned as partners.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Boise State partnered with the United Way of South Central Idaho to support a local Leadercast as part of Boise State Day at CSI.&nbsp; Leadercast brought 140 Magic Valley leaders together and connected them to leadership training and professional development opportunities. This aligns with the Division of Extended Studies and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/pace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Professional and Continuing Education<\/a> goals to support professional development and lifelong learning programs that empower individuals, fulfill workforce needs and strengthen communities.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter wp-image-1058754\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/164\/2022\/10\/IMG_2792.jpeg\" alt=\"University partners sit at tables and talk. \" class=\"wp-image-1058754\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Partnership meetings at 2022 Boise State Day.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Boise State Day at CSI also implemented best practices in enrollment management to market programs to recruit, retain and graduate an increasing number of transfer students. Individual one-on-one meetings, small group discussions, classroom visits and a tabling event demonstrated shared pathways to obtain higher education.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Several events are now in the planning phase for specific departments to strengthen partnerships with their counterparts at CSI and showcase several transfer pathways for students at CSI &amp; surrounding communities.
