| February 15, 2026 | 2026-27 FAFSA filing priority date for all students to be considered for priority aid and need-based scholarships. Students are strongly encouraged to submit a 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) even if the priority filing date for need-based scholarships has passed. |
| February 15, 2026 | Scholarship priority date for Idaho residents (new freshmen and transfer students) and non-resident transfer students. Last day to have all admissions materials received in the Admissions Office to be considered for 2026-2027 automatic scholarships. Refer to our scholarships website for specific eligibility criteria. Complete the Boise State Scholarship Application. |
| April 2026 | Initial work-study awards will be automatically awarded to eligible students, as funding permits. Watch my.BoiseState and BroncoMail for award notifications and instructions on how to accept work-study awards. Unaccepted work-study awards may be canceled after 30 days. Funding for the program is limited and not guaranteed for all eligible students. |
| May 2026 | Work-study waitlist request will open for all students who did not receive an initial award. Funding for the program is limited and not guaranteed for all eligible students. |
| May 1, 2026 | Deadline for accepting 2026-2027 admissions scholarships. If the Intent to Enroll is completed by May 1, 2026, admissions scholarships are accepted on the student’s behalf. |
| May 1, 2026 | Special Circumstances appeal process opens for 2026-2027. Please contact the Financial Aid office to discuss your situation before submitting documentation – no appointment required. |
| June 15, 2026 | Electronic notification to resident and transfer nonresident students of Fall 2026 scholarship awards. Watch my.BoiseState, your Student Center, or BroncoMail for notification. |
| July 1, 2026 | First date students may begin earning 2026-2027 work-study funds if their award is accepted, they are enrolled in credits for the fall semester, and have been hired into a position. |
| July 15 – September 4, 2026 | Expect longer processing times for Special Circumstances appeals due to increased office activity. |
| August 13, 2026 | Ideal date by which to finalize your fall class schedule to receive the fullest amount of your fall financial aid. Part-time students may begin to see aid reduced based on the level of enrollment prior to the first disbursement of aid. |
| August 13, 2026 | Electronically accept aid and complete any assigned direct loan counseling or master promissory note to-do items by this date to have financial aid available for earliest release (disbursement) of aid. |
| August 13, 2026 | Submit direct deposit authorization by this date on myBoiseState for earliest disbursement of fall financial aid to be deposited into your savings/checking account. |
| August 14, 2026 | The earliest date that fall semester aid (scholarships, loans, grants) can be applied towards paying fall charges. Students may begin to check their account for disbursements. Allow 3-5 business days to receive refunds by direct deposit or 7-10 days for refund checks by mail. |
| August 18, 2026 | Estimated date first direct deposit or refund checks received for excess fall financial aid. |
| August 21, 2026 | Anticipated date that Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) review will be completed for students attended Summer 2026 classes. SAP must be reviewed prior to disbursement of fall semester aid for those with SAP warnings, holds, or academic plans. |
| August 22, 2026 | Fee payment deadline for students registered for Fall 2026 semester courses that begin on August 24. Please refer to the academic calendar for more fee payment and enrollment deadlines. |
| August 24, 2026 | Fall 2026 classes begin. |
| September 4, 2026 11:59 pm | First financial aid Pell Recalculation Date – Pell Grant eligibility for financial aid is determined by the number of credits students are registered for on this date. All credits for classes that start on August 24, 2026, including internship credits, must be in place by this deadline. Only “financial aid eligible” credits count towards enrollment level, scholarship eligibility, Pell Grant and loan eligibility. |
| September 4, 2026 | Deadline to submit a Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) appeal for Fall 2026 financial aid eligibility. |
| October 31, 2026 | Target deadline to submit documents (verification tax transcripts, etc.) needed to complete your Fall 2026 financial aid application for students enrolled in only the fall semester at Boise State. Documents submitted after this date may be ineligible for student loans, but will still be evaluated for Pell Grant eligibility. |
| November 6, 2026 11:59 pm | Second financial aid Pell Recalculation Date – Pell Grant eligibility for students enrolled in sessions starting after August 24, 2026 is determined by the number of credits they are registered for on this date. Only “financial aid eligible” credits count towards enrollment level, scholarship eligibility, Pell Grant and loan eligibility. |
| November 15, 2026 | Last day to submit Special Circumstances Form for fall (if you are graduating at the end of Fall 2026). |
| November 15, 2026 | Last day to request an additional Direct Loan for fall semester only. |
| Early December 2026 | Complete loan exit counseling if you are graduating fall semester and have received a Direct Loan at Boise State. You will receive a letter or email with information about what is required. |
| December 11, 2026 | Deadline to complete a master promissory note for loans to be released in December. After December 11, fall aid cannot be released until grades are checked and eligibility for fall aid is reevaluated. |
| December 18, 2026 | Last day work-study student employees who are graduating or not continuing may work and earn their award for fall. |
| December 18, 2026 | Last date for disbursement of fall aid until semester grades are final. |
