| Federal Pell Grant | Pell is a federal grant, which does not need to be repaid. The amount of the offered Pell Grant is based on full-time enrollment. The award amount will be adjusted to reflect your actual enrollment before the start of the semester and will “lock” on the 10th day of each semester. Eligible students may receive the Pell grant for the completion of their first bachelor degree or a total of 6 years (whichever comes first). |
| Summer Pell Grant | You have been awarded a summer Federal Pell Grant. Read your award email for details about the award. It is based on your current enrollment. If you add/drop credits, it may be adjusted through the Pell census date for summer (midnight, June 9). Please see your summer award email for details. |
| Federal SEOG Grant | The Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) is a grant which is not required to be repaid. Eligibility is determined by the FAFSA. You must be enrolled in at least 6 credits to receive this offered aid. |
| Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan | The Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan is offered to fund your educational expenses and must be repaid after you leave school. Unsubsidized loans accrue interest after the funds are paid out and until the loan is paid in full. If you accept your unsubsidized Direct Loan, you must complete all Direct Loan TO DO items that appear on your Student Financial Aid Portal. This may include a Direct Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) and/or Entrance Counseling via studentaid.gov. The same MPN and entrance counseling are used for both subsidized and unsubsidized Direct Loans (and are active for 10 years). You must enroll in at least a half-time status (6 credits undergrad; 5 credits grad) on the tenth day of each term to be eligible for this loan. Federal regulations require the loan amount be reduced for students enrolled less-than-full-time during the academic year. |
| WOODY Loan | This is an institutional loan that is repaid to Boise State University via a third party servicer. Once you accept your WOODY Loan, the Payment and Disbursement Office will be mailing you your WOODY Promissory Note that includes repayment details. |
| Federal Direct Subsidized Loan | The Federal Direct Subsidized Loan is offered to fund your educational expenses and must be repaid after you leave school. Subsidized loans do not accrue interest while you are in school at least half-time. If you accept this subsidized Direct Loan, you must complete all Direct Loan TO DO items that appear in your Student Financial Aid Portal. This may include a Direct Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) and/or Entrance Counseling via studentaid.gov. The same MPN and entrance counseling are used for both subsidized and unsubsidized Direct Loans (and are active for 10 years). You must be enrolled in at least a half-time status (6 credits undergrad; 5 credits grad) on the tenth day of each term to be eligible. Federal regulations require the loan amount be reduced for students enrolled less-than-full-time during the academic year. |
| Parent PLUS Loan | The Parent PLUS loan has been accepted on behalf of the borrower based on the application submitted on www.studenaid.gov. You must enroll in at least half-time status (6 credits) to receive this loan. Your parent (and endorser, if required) will need to complete the PLUS Master Promissory Note (MPN) on the studentloans.gov website in order for these funds to disburse. New regulations limit the annual amount borrowed to $20,000 per borrower per dependent student. Existing borrowers may meet legacy provisions that allow continued borrowing under the prior regulations. The financial aid office determines which regulations apply to the borrower AFTER the approved application is received. |
| Graduate PLUS Loan | The Graduate PLUS loan has been accepted on your behalf based on the application submitted on www.studentaid.gov. You must enroll in at least half-time status (5 credits) to receive this loan. You (and your endorser, if required) must complete a PLUS Master Promissory Note (MPN) on the studentaid.gov website in order for these funds to disburse. New regulations eliminate the Graduate PLUS program for new borrowers. Existing borrowers MAY qualify for legacy provisions that allow continued borrowing to complete an in-progress academic program. The financial aid office determines if the borrower is eligible for continued borrowing AFTER the approved application is received. |
