Bronco Recharge

Bronco Recharge is a program to help students who are struggling academically to stay connected to Boise State while attending the College of Western Idaho (CWI). Students work with a Bronco Recharge advisor to develop academic skills and habits with the intent to return to Boise State and earn their bachelor’s degree.

Who do we support?

Bronco Recharge is designed to support Boise State students who are on academic probation, have been academically dismissed or are struggling academically for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Financial difficulty
  • Large class size
  • Difficult commute
  • Different learning style
  • Lack of experience
  • Work/life/school balance

How can we help you reach your goals?

  • Support your completion of lower-division courses at CWI to fulfill Boise State degree requirements.
  • Provide one-on-one support from Boise State staff.
  • Provide an opportunity to earn an associate degree.
  • Support navigating CWI’s academic requirements and connecting to resources.
  • Address financial concerns through CWI’s lower cost of attendance.
  • Help you enroll in courses with smaller class sizes.
  • Allow you to repeat previous courses you struggled in.

Do I need to apply to CWI?

Yes, you need to apply to CWI. You are required to meet CWI’s deadlines and admission’s requirements.

What steps do I need to take to participate in Bronco Recharge?

In order to participate in Bronco Recharge you need to meet with the Coordinator. The Coordinator will go over your educational options, your goals, and discuss the program to help you determine if it is a good fit for you. There is not an additional application needed.

What classes can I take at CWI?

The College of Western Idaho offers lower division courses that students can complete. Your coordinator along with your academic advisor will work with you to determine the best classes for you to take and if they are available at CWI.
