AI for Students

Student Use of AI

Generative AI is rapidly reshaping our workplaces, communities, and world. We want our students to be prepared for those changes, so we continually develop new generative AI curriculum and support the integration of AI into existing courses and programs. We want you to develop practical and professional generative AI skills, apply generative AI tools appropriately in your classes and workplaces, and understand the complex social, economic and political impacts of AI.

AI and digital innovation.

Always check with your instructor to ensure you have a solid understanding of their expectations. Instructors can explain how they approach the use of generative AI tools in their classes, and how they think about generative AI and its relationship to academic integrity.

Protect Yourself and Others

Even if your use of AI is authorized, avoid entering personally identifiable information, confidential, sensitive, private, restricted data or any data that could be used to carry out scams or create a hostile environment.

Be conscientious of your prompting to ensure generated content is lawful and carefully document your prompts and iterations to ensure you retain your voice so it’s easy to tell ideas generated by you versus those generated by AI.
