Can I use AI other than the tools listed on this page?

No, the tools listed on this page are the officially supported AI tools at Boise State. No other AI tools meet the university’s security, privacy, compliance, or legal standards. Therefore, you should not utilize any other AI tool using the University’s network or devices or your University credentials, including other versions of ChatGPT.

Note that DeepSeek AI tools are unavailable for use on Boise State’s networks, and university Google Workspace accounts are blocked from authenticating to DeepSeek.

Does ChatGPT Edu have a usage cap?

Yes. ChatGPT Edu has a usage cap. For current usage cap information, please visit the Open AI website.

Can students request a ChatGPT Edu license?

ChatGPT Edu licenses are for faculty and staff only.

Can I use my Boise State ChatGPT Edu account for personal use?

It is recommended that you do not use personal devices, networks, credentials, or accounts to do work for the University and you should not use University devices, networks, credentials, or accounts for activities that are in no way related to your relationship to the University.

Can I build GPTs?

Yes, you can build GPTs, but GPTs cannot be shared outside the domain or with unlicensed users.
