Engage

Many student organizations find apparel items such as t-shirts, jackets, hats, etc. with the group’s name and logo are a great way to promote the student organization. This requires intentional communication and coordination with the Student Involvement and Leadership Center. Read the guidelines for Buying Apparel Items and contact the Student Involvement and Leadership Center at getinvolved@boisestate.edu or (208) 426-1223 to get started.

Buttons

A button maker can be checked out from the Student Involvement and Leadership Center. Submit an Equipment Request Form to reserve a time to use the button maker. A Purchase Request Form must also be submitted at least seven (7) business days prior to the requested use date to cover the cost of making buttons.

Fliers and Posters

Printing in Student Involvement

Each registered student organization is able to print 200 black and white photocopies each semester for free from the copy machine in the Student Involvement and Leadership Center. After that black and white copies cost $0.08 per page. Color copies are available for $0.10 a page.

Poster Island

The Student Involvement and Leadership Center offers free sign-making supplies to recognized student organizations with Active status. This “poster island” can be found in the Student Involvement and Leadership Center on the second floor of the Student Union Building.

Would You Like Feedback?

Would you like feedback on your poster, flyer, or other promotional material? Complete a Promotions Review Form and we’re happy to review it for your organization according to these promotions guidelines for student organizations:

  • Include the full name of your organization and contact information on your promotional materials to inform readers who your group is and how to get in touch with you.
  • Double-check your promotional materials for spelling and grammatical errors.
  • Include the date, time, and location of events and activities.
  • Co-sponsoring an event or activity? Include the full name of your co-sponsor(s) as well as the name of your organization to properly attribute who is holding the event.
  • Adhere to university brand standards when using Boise State logos or trademarks. Learn more by reading the Student Organization Identity Guidelines

Digital Kiosk Advertising

Digital kiosks are strategically placed throughout the Student Union Building to provide information and content for students and guests of Boise State. The purpose of the digital kiosks is to promote university services, events, and activities. The Information Desk in the Student Union manages digital signage. To make a reservation please follow these steps:

  • Review Boise State University’s Identity Guidelines for Student Organizations before finalizing your ad.
  • Submit a Promotions Review form for your ad to the Student Involvement and Leadership Center. Save documentation from our office regarding your submission. The Info Desk may ask you to provide verification that Student Involvement has reviewed your ad.
  • After your ad has been reviewed by the Student Involvement and Leadership Center, submit your ad request using the Promotional Request. Your ad is required TWO (2) weeks prior to the requested start date.

Involvement Fair

This fair is a great place to meet students one-on-one in a fun environment. At the start of each semester, you are invited to sign-up with the Student Involvement and Leadership Center to host a table for your organization. Decorate your table, get members to volunteer to staff it during the fair, and recruit new students to join your organization.

Marketing Booths

Booth or table space is available in the Student Union Building, on the Quad, and outside the Interactive Learning Center and Multipurpose Building. University Event Services manages the reservations for these spaces. To reserve booths, visit Event Services on the second floor of the Student Union Building, email eventservices@boisestate.edu, or call (208) 426-1677.

Outdoor Kiosks (Banners)

The Information Desk in the Student Union manages the Outdoor Kiosks. One location is currently available and it’s located behind the Special Events Center. Make reservations online by submitting a Promotional Request or call (208) 426-4636. Before purchasing and printing your student organization banner, please follow these steps:

  • Review Boise State University’s Identity Guidelines for Student Organizations before finalizing your banner.
  • Submit a Promotions Review form for your banner to the Student Involvement and Leadership Center. Save documentation from our office regarding your submission. The Info Desk may ask you to provide verification that the Student Involvement and Leadership Center has reviewed your banner.
  • After your banner has been reviewed by Student Involvement, submit your request to infodeskpromo@boisestate.edu. Your banner is required TWO (2) weeks prior to the requested start date.

Poster Route

Poster distribution is available throughout campus. The Information Desk in the Student Union manages the Poster Route. Make reservations online by submitting a Promotional Request or call (208) 426-4636.

Sidewalk Chalk

Sidewalk Chalk is a strategic way to reach targeted groups of students. Special approval is not needed; however, please do not chalk inside or within 30 feet of a residence hall entrance. Also, please abstain from chalking buildings, vertical surfaces, or under over-hangs. The chalk you use should be washable and disappear with natural rainfall. Questions? Toilet Talk

Just what it sounds like: signs in the bathrooms in the Student Union Building. The Information Desk/Bronco Card in the Student Union manages Toilet Talk. Make reservations online by submitting a Promotional Request or call (208) 426-4636. Please include all of the information you want for your advertisement, such as time, date, location, cost, and contact information.
