We’re proud to share that Anthony Ellertson, Director of Boise State’s Games, Interactive Media & Mobile (GIMM) program, spoke at R-CON 2025 in Boise last week. (rcon2025.com)
Ellertson joined a panel on “Digital Twins at Boise State” alongside other faculty. Together, they showed how Boise State uses digital twin technology in many fields—construction, biomedical research, molecular modeling, and virtual or augmented reality in the arts.
He also gave a solo talk about how the GIMM department applies digital twins in games and interactive media. Ellertson shared real projects and examples from his students. He explained how digital twins can improve design, storytelling, and testing in interactive worlds.
Ellertson’s role as both a panelist and speaker highlights the GIMM program’s drive to explore new uses of technology. His work helps connect digital twin research with creative design and learning.
We’re excited to see Dr. Ellertson representing Boise State and showing how digital twins go beyond engineering. In his view, these tools can also change how we tell stories, design games, and build immersive multimedia experiences.
In short: digital twins are not just about modeling the real world—they are about re-imagining it. Anthony Ellertson and the GIMM program continue to lead the way in combining innovation, creativity, and technology at Boise State.
