Give From Your IRA

Make a tax-smart gift to Boise State University by giving directly from your IRA or by naming the university as a beneficiary. Gifts made through the Boise State Foundation go straight to the university, ensuring your support reaches the programs and students you care about.

How to Give From Your IRA

Make a Direct Gift

If you are age 70 and a half or older, you can make a tax-free gift directly from your IRA to the Boise State University Foundation. This type of gift, called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), is a simple way to support the causes you care about while saving on taxes.

Benefits:

  • Avoid paying income tax on the amount given.
  • Count it toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) if you are 73 or older.
  • Make an immediate difference in our mission.

How to Do It:

  1. Contact your IRA administrator.
  2. Request that a Qualified Charitable Distribution be sent directly to the Boise State University Foundation at 1173 W. University Dr., Boise, ID 83706. EIN #82-6010706.
  3. Let us know once your gift is on the way so we can thank you and ensure it’s used exactly how you intend.
