Types of Transcripts
Most transcripts can be requested by contacting the Registrar’s office of your previous universities. Boise State requires transcripts from all higher education institutions you have attended.
- Electronic transcripts are considered official when received from a secure site (e.g., Clearinghouse, Parchment) properly linked to the sending institution.
- Paper transcripts are considered official when they arrive in a sealed and stamped envelope with all security features intact.
- Transcripts received in any other condition, such as unsealed envelopes or those emailed/uploaded by the student, are not official.
Quick Transcript Questions
Graduate programs differ in whether they accept unofficial transcripts during the application process. When you select your program in the online application, it will show whether you may upload unofficial transcripts or if official transcripts are required. You can also check the Graduate Catalog for program-specific transcript requirements.
