Welcome to the Graduate College! We are happy that you are considering pursuing your graduate studies at Boise State University. Students can apply to the Graduate College at any time. However, be sure to check your program of study for important deadlines.

How to Apply

Application Process

Submit your application to the Graduate College! Remember to review your application carefully. Once you submit it you will not be able to go back and make changes.
Submit official transcripts from every college or university you have attended. Instructions for submitting your official transcripts.
Pay your non-refundable application fee.

Application Fees

$65 for Domestic Non-degree seeking, Master’s, Education Specialist, or Doctoral degree programs.
$65 for Domestic Certificate programs.
$95 for International Master’s, Education Specialist, Doctoral degree, or Certificate programs.

International Student

Are you an international graduate student? Learn about English Proficiency, submitting official transcripts, and official proof of degree. Visit International Admissions.

High School or Returning Student

Are you a high school student or returning to earn your bachelor’s degree? Visit Undergraduate Admissions.

Academic Department Requirements

Submit all application documents required by your department.

Please note the following:

Program-specific documents will be submitted electronically through your Graduate College application.
If your program requires a GRE or GMAT, the Boise State University code for both tests is 4018.
Letters of recommendation should be requested electronically through your application. You will need the name and email address of your recommenders.

Minimum Admission Requirements

The following are minimum admission requirements of the Graduate College:

At least a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university, or a degree from a non-U.S. institution of higher education that is judged equivalent to a U.S. baccalaureate degree by the International Admissions Office.
A cumulative GPA of at least a 3.00 for all undergraduate work. If you have below 3.00 you should contact your program’s coordinator for more information.
Being admitted into the Graduate College does not mean that you are also admitted into your program. You are only officially admitted to your program after you submit all required documents and receive written notification of your admissions status. Finally, applicants who are applying as a graduate degree-seeking student and were graduate degree-seeking students elsewhere but did not complete the program must demonstrate that they departed that program in good academic standing.
