This workshop is coordinated by medical students in Idaho WWAMI’s Student National Medical Association (SNMA) group. SNMA is committed to supporting current and future underrepresented minority medical students. Underrepresented in medicine (URiM) means those racial and ethnic populations that are underrepresented in the medical profession relative to their numbers in the general population. This lens currently includes students who identify as African American and/or Black, Hispanic/Latinx, Native American (American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians), Pacific Islander, and mainland Puerto Rican.
Students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds are also invited to apply. However, if capacity is reached, priority will be given to URiM students.
