    Zoë Segnitz

    Director of Wellness Services

    Zoë is a passionate community builder and educator who has spent her career in higher education exploring student needs and showing up as their advocate. She brings diverse experience across Academic Advising, Athletics, Housing and Residence Life, New Student Orientation, and Parent and Family Engagement. Her work has taught her that we serve students best when we also deliberately serve one another, making her a collaborative leader who fosters strong faculty and staff connections in support of student success.

    As Director of Wellness Services, Zoë focuses on aligning wellness initiatives with the university’s strategic priorities, creating environments where it’s easier for students to learn how to be well so they can do well. She holds a B.A. in Art from Davidson College and an M.A. in Education from the University of California, Berkeley. Outside of work, Zoë loves toiling and playing in the garden, the kitchen, through her writing, and with her friends and family.

    Justin Herbert, MEd, CHES

    Health Educator

    Justin is a Certified Health Education Specialist who is a native from the greater Chicagoland area. He received his B.S. in Health Promotion and M.Ed. in Curriculum Design and Instruction from Weber State University. As a Health Educator with the Wellness Services team, Justin focuses on programming related to mental health education, coping skills, and emotional intelligence/awareness/regulation. He is passionate about building a thriving, inclusive, and successful community for students during their time in college. In his free time, Justin enjoys snowboarding in the winter months, watching college sports, and creating new tasty recipes or trying local restaurants. He also appreciates spending time with his friends, family and dogs, Wrigley and Willow.

    Cara Van Valkenburg

    Promotions Coordinator

    Cara received her Bachelor in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design from Boise State University in 2014.  During her sophomore year, she became a promotions intern at University Health Services and has been a part of the promotions and marketing team ever since. Cara is responsible for the graphic design and promotion of all items housed under University Health Services, including Wellness Services. Her favorite part of the job is the opportunity to be creative and work on a variety of projects daily. In her spare time, she enjoys walking her dog, cooking, and thrift shopping.

    Program Lead | Peer Health Education and Student Development

    Olivia serves as the Program Lead for Peer Health Education and Student Development. She earned both her B.S. in Psychology and M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Boise State University. In her role, Olivia supports the Peer Health Educator student leader team in developing programs and hosting events focused on health promotion and student wellbeing across campus. She is passionate about helping student leaders grow and thrive so they can make a meaningful impact within the campus community. In her free time, Olivia enjoys traveling to new places, spending time with friends and family, and discovering new music.
