Community Engagement and Outreach (CEO) Core

About the CEO core

The CEO partners with the community (patients, clinicians, state organizations, and other healthcare stakeholders) to understand the health research priorities and opportunities of Idaho.

We use this information to advise CTR-D program initiatives. The CEO Core is working to establish an Idaho-based practice-based research and learning network (PBRN), named INSPIRE.

Mission

To strengthen researcher and community relationships to facilitate community-engaged research that addresses the needs of all Idahoans.

Goals

  1. Deliver CEO-tailored trainings and resources.
  2. Launch the Idaho Practice-Based Research and Learning Network (PBRN) to meaningfully engage and support community clinics in research.
  3. Establish patient and clinician Community Advisory Boards (CABs) to ensure alignment with community priorities and responsiveness to the needs of Idahoans.
  4. Evaluate the CEO Core activities to continuously improve community engagement.

Milestones

  1. Determine groups of research interest and initiate email group
  2. Create and deliver tailored trainings and resources
  3. Develop PBRN infrastructure, including resources and stakeholder recruitment and onboarding
  4. Conduct pilot card study and facilitate studies through PBRN
  5. Establish patient and clinician CABs, hosting CAB meetings and utilizing knowledge gained
  6. Disseminate CEO Core findings to guide CTR-D programming
  7. Continuously evaluate and improve CEO activities

Major functions

  • Provide education and resources for clinical and translational researchers to develop and implement community-engaged research.
  • Create an Idaho-based practice-based research and learning network (PBRN) to connect stakeholders and allow for multidirectional research engagement between clinical and translational researchers and the community.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of health priorities from Idaho communities, ensuring that CTR-D leadership and researchers integrate this feedback into program initiatives.
  • Ensure that CEO activities are fulfilling our goals and working towards our desired future state of community-engaged research.

What is INSPIRE?

  • Idaho Network for Supporting Practice, Innovation, Research, and Education (INSPIRE) is a practice-based research and learning network (PBRN) being developed in Idaho as part of the Healthy Idaho CTR-D Program.
