[Chloe Yalung]: Hi, I’m Chloe Yalung, a resident assistant at Syringa. I’m a junior currently studying nursing. Today I’m going to give you an inside look at the rooms, building amenities, and community of Boise State’s newest residence hall, Syringa. Let’s go. Syringa Hall is home to around 450 first year students. It is designed for full time students aged 17 to 19, giving you what you need to build your community from the start.

[Chloe]: Named after the state flower, this building was designed to reflect the natural beauty of Idaho. Every floor has cozy lounges with floor to ceiling windows that overlooks the Boise River and Greenbelt.
It really helps you feel connected to nature, to campus, and to each other.
Syringa is located right between the library and Taylor Hall. Just a few steps from classes, the Student Union, and the Boise River,
it is the closest residence hall to Friendship Bridge, your gateway
to the city.

[Chloe]: Syringa offers one room type double rooms, each with a twin
bed, dresser, closet, desk, and chair for students. The natural layout gives you plenty of natural light and space to make it feel like home.
Each floor has a shared restroom along with private single restrooms.
These are designed with lots of space, private showers, and modern finishes. There are three lounges on every floor, plus a first floor study room, meeting room, and laundry room. The shared spaces make it easy to connect with people in your community.

[Chloe]: Our laundry facilities are located on the first floor. Conveniently, there’s booths seating within the room if you want to hang out or study while your laundry is being done. Each wing acts like a mini community designed to support friendships, learning, and fun. Also, Syringa has got all kinds of simple conveniences that just make life easier, like the recycling and garbage chutes on each floor.

[Chloe]: This building also has three elevators, making it easy to move throughout the building. One of my favorite parts of this building is the outdoor patio and bike lounge. It’s also close to our campuses outdoor amphitheater, which is a perfect spot to gather with friends and family and enjoy views of Boise’s beautiful greenbelt.

[Chloe]: Just to recap, here are some key takeaways for you to remember.
