Using the VPN to Access HR System

What We Tackled Jan. 8, 2021:

  • Video Recap
  • HR Updates:
    • Federal COVID leaves are set to expire on December 31, 2020. We understand that this might cause concern and stress for employees as the pandemic continues. The State of Idaho Division of Human Resources has allowed flexibility with employees using sick time to cover their time spent away from work to school children at home due to COVID-related reasons. If you have any concerns, we encourage you to talk to your supervisor and us in HR.  Remember, we are here for you! Reach out to us at hrs@boisestate.edu.
  • Using the VPN
    • Beginning Tuesday, January 5, access to the HR System (PeopleSoft HR) will require additional security measures. To sign in to the HR System on or after January 5, you must first do one of the following:
      • Be physically on campus (either on a desktop or kiosk computer, or a mobile device connected to eduroam).
      • OR connect to Boise State’s VPN.
      • Former employees needing to access paystubs or W2s prior to 2018 will be able to submit a form to Boise State HR to access those records.
    • No action is needed at this time. However, if you have never connected to Boise State’s VPN (or if it’s been awhile) we strongly recommend setting it up and testing it prior to the next payroll reporting deadline on January 11. This will ensure access to the system for time and/or leave reporting purposes. Visit the VPN webpage for instructions.
    • For more information about these requirements and answers to frequently asked questions, please visit the Office of Information Technology’s website or contact the OIT Help Desk at (208) 426-4357, email helpdesk@boisestate.edu, or chat.
